This course will encompass an introduction to different art forms, how they evolved, and how they affected our society over the centuries. We will examine the relationship between culture and language, history, technology, and philosophy. We will discuss contemporary developments in AI, how they affect our reality, what will be their affect on future generations, and what we can do to maintain humanity's fortes, such as creativity, renovation, and morality. Taking this course should assist students in making an informed choice for their future college degree.
In the first two sessions of this course, we will touch upon the following topics: - the psychological, philosophic, and practical origins of different fields as we know them (incl. Music, Dance, literature, and theatre), and the Romantic-Classic pendulum - From antiquity to Postmodernism: the development of ideas - Liberal arts and Humanities, and the Virtues of the Homo sapiens
In the third session, we will address: - Revolutions in society and art: how technology affected the Liberal Arts - Media, social media, and society - AI and Arts: a contemporary review
The fourth session will offer insights into the future of Liberal Arts and Humanitarian education: - AI and Humanity: where are we going? - Possible solutions to the future of Liberal Arts
